Hi Ladies, the weather is perfect for playing golf at the moment and we have several events to encourage you onto the course. Firstly a Funday at Darenth Valley, playing with the retired gentlemen of the Edenbridge PROBUS who we play once a year. This is 32 for those over 60.  The sign-up sheet is up in Ladies Cloakroom for Wednesday 19th September. Other Matches are Ifield on Sunday 23rd - this is at Horne, maybe already full.  Ladies to play with a junior - if you are free sign up on the form in the cloakroom. Tuesday Afternoon on the 18th is a memorial game. (we play a game to remember all our friends no longer with us).  The Daily Mail competition is on Thursday 27th or Saturday 29th.  Qualifying Stableford on Thursday 6th and Saturday 8th and the Medal Thursday 20th and Saturday 22nd - handicap 36.4 or less. Champion of Champions for those of you who have won a competition this summer on Sunday 30th September. I hope this helps you take part in as many events and qualifiers as you can. Louise

CRYSTAL BOWL: TUESDAY 14TH AUGUST.  What a great day.  the weather was kind; not too hot and not too cold.  Chris Davies won the Crystal Bowl and she and her daughter Gemma Kinsey won first prize, with Louise and her partner Roger coming second on count back. The best putter with 17 putts was Max Cartwright, Geraldine's partner.  Nearest the pin on the 6th was Di Hunter and nearest the pin in 2 on the 9th was Rosie Christie.  But well done to everyone who took part.

Don't forget to join in the Medal and Stableford competitions, Thursdays and Saturdays each month; Qualifiers to keep your handicap active; lots of friendly ladies to help you and encourage you to join in - and this is only the Ladies Section! The Club have more social events and weekend competitions, so keep an eye on the main noticeboard.  Just a reminder that with the introduction of higher handicaps this year, the competition committee have kept the MEDAL qualifiers to 36 and below.  This will be reviewed again for next year. Club Medal competitions also have a cut-off of 36.

Change of Team Colours - Our Captain has made the decision to change our team colours from white shirts and purple jumpers to LIME GREEN shirts but keeping the purple jumpers.  These have been delivered and are now with Louise.  The cost is 15. If you still want to buy a shirt, check with Louise to see if there are any in stock.

ON-LINE TEE BOOKING: Horne Park uses an on-line system of booking tee times.  Tuesday afternoons and Thursday morning tee times should be automatically on the booking system, but any other tee times should be booked using the on-line system.  Ask in the Pro Shop for your 'membership number' - this will be your 'login'.  Go to the main Horne Park website and create a PIN - You will be asked for your membership number and your date of birth.  Create your PIN which is 4 numerals.  Then when you login using your membership number and your PIN number you will get the option to book any date within 3 weeks.

FRIENDLY MATCHES - we have lots of friendly matches, home and away.  Please look on the noticeboard to see when the next match is due.  The sign-up sheet with the relevant details will go up a few weeks before a match and the team will be posted at least 2 weeks before.  Everyone is encouraged to sign up as these matches are a lot of fun and you get to play at other courses and meet other ladies.

WINNERS! - if you win a Ladies' qualifying competition or Sunday Comp, or even Chip In, you are entitled to enter THE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS and win a cup.  To be held on Sunday 30th September.

WINTER KNOCKOUTS 2017/2108 - Rosemary Golby is the winner in the Singles with Maggie Stansfield the runner up.  Jo Stone & Maggie Stansfield were the winners in the Doubles final beating Michelle & Rosie on the last hole!

SUMMER KNOCKOUTS 2018 - Singles and Doubles draw sheets are now on the noticeboard.  Please check the date for completing each round you are in and make sure you get your game done before that date. Good luck to everyone! The draw for the SUMMER PLATE is now also on the board for a second chance at getting a trophy.

The SUMMER Eclectic 2018 will be taken from all the qualifying games played in the summer where the scores are entered into the computer -  showing your best score on each of the 18 holes. There will be 3 divisions this year due to the change in the CONGU handicapping. The Order of Merit (OOM) is taken from your position on the leaderboard at each qualifier you enter, from 1st down to 8th and your best 10 positions over the summer are used. All the more reason to come and do the qualifiers!

The WINTER eclectic (click for details) was taken from the best 10 cards played over the winter months on Thursdays and Saturdays.  The overall winner of the 3 divisions will collect an award at the following AGM.

For all new Winter members please see our Welcome Letter and notes on competitions we hold over the year.  There is also a sign up sheet on the noticeboard where you can put your name and contact details asking any of the ladies to play a round of golf with you. Unless you joined Horne with a handicap already, from April you can submit 3 x 18 hole cards (or a mixture of 9 and 18 = 54) to get your handicap.  Please ask any of the ladies to give you more details.

TUESDAYS - this is a fun 9-hole game for all the ladies, including non-members (you just have to pay a green fee).  Tuesdays are a great way for new members to meet the ladies. Our Vice-Captain, Joy Tilley, arranges the Tuesday games although she may well ask one or two others to help.

THURSDAYS & SATURDAYS - Please put your names on the sheets which are on the noticeboard in the ladies' changing rooms.  If you find you are not able to be there after all or you want to be added to the list, please phone the Pro Shop (01342 844443) before the sign-in time.

If you have any questions or ideas for the website please get in touch with any of the committee.
